Chiropractic, although often misunderstood, is about helping people live healthier, fuller lives. While typically thought of as "bone doctors", chiropractors actually focus on the nervous system, particularly the spine, as the key to a healthy and pain-free body. The basis of our work focuses on correcting misalignments in the spinal column (called “subluxations”), improving the functioning of the entire nervous system.
In order to reduce pain and dramatically improve quality of life, chiropractors make ‘adjustments’ that re-align your body and re-establish proper nerve flow throughout the body. Once the correct structural order has been restored, the nerve signals between the brain and the body flow freely, allowing your body’s natural healing systems to function optimally. Chiropractic work is widely researched, practiced, and respected, and has been shown to help a wide range of ailments, from allergies to whiplash.

Chiropractic examinations are non-invasive and are performed with the patient fully clothed. This initial examination is used to determine the course of treatment, as well as any other care necessary to establish optimal health.

Initial examinations for chiropractic care take approximately 30 to 45 minutes, with an extra 15 to 30 minutes typically scheduled for any adjustment necessary. The fees for the initial examination are based upon the complexity of the case and range from $50-75 for children to $75-$100 for adults. Fees for any adjustment performed in conjunction with the initial examination typically cost $35-$85.00

Manual Adjustments There are a variety of techniques now in use by chiropractors to aid in the adjustment of their patients. However, the original method developed by Dr. D. D. Palmer is the manual adjustment.

A manual adjustment is typically performed on a special chiropractic table and relief is often noticeable immediately. Chiropractic adjustments often take between 10-15 minutes, but can be longer if there is a significant amount of soft tissue (i.e. tendon, ligament or muscular) constriction. Longer adjustments can range from 20-45 minutes, and often incorporate a combination of other therapies which help reduce the tension in the soft tissues.

A manual adjustment consists of a firm, yet gentle, corrective movement of the neck, mid or lower back. A corrective mobilization is used to rectify an extremity (i.e., rib, shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip, knee, or ankle) which is fixated. Manual adjustments, when performed correctly, allow a degree of finesse not usually found with any technological device, such as activator.
Activator adjustment is just as effective and would be a matter of what my clients feel comfortable with. I find it great for Children and Elder adults as the intensity of the adjustment can be modified to each individual.


An adjustment at our office is literally from “head to toe.”

The cost of a chiropractic adjustment may range from $35-50 for children and seniors, to $45 and up for teens and adults. Fees are based upon the complexity of the case and the amount of time needed to resolve the issue.

Medical Massage differs from regular Massage and Bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a doctor.  I may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment, but I focus the treatment only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis.  This enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and reduces the needed recovery time from injury.

Herbal Medicine is the therapeutic use of plants, and is one of the oldest forms of health care in the world.  Depending on your specific needs, we prescribe specific herbs that produce and contain a variety of chemical substances that act upon the body.  Different herbs have been effectively used for a wide range of medicinal purposes including pain relief, hormone balancing, sleep enhancement, improved digestion, skin soothing, and stress relief.

Homeopathic

A Homeopathic Remedy is made by a substance in nature, be that plant or mineral. As an example, a homeopathic remedy can be  made from Red Onion.  The Onion's "essence" is extracted by placing parts of a red onion in alcohol and allowing the alcohol to extract the "essence".  The resulting alcohol tincture is called the "Mother Tincture". 


After the Mother tincture is created, it can be diluted with an alcohol and water solution to create a more powerful remedy.  When 1 drop of the Mother tincture is added to 9 drops of alcohol and water, a dilution is created.  This dilution is then shaken, and the remedy's strength is called 1X.  The 1X dilution can then be diluted itself by adding 1 drop of it to 9 drops of alcohol and water. If we do this type of dilution 3 times in total (including the first time), then the remedy's potency is called 3X.  The roman numeral X is the scale of dilution, and it means a 10:1 dilution. 

With further dilutions and shaking the remedy becomes more powerful and useful.  What is interesting about Homeopathy is that each different remedy and potency has a particular frequency.  In the same way that we tune a radio to a particular frequency and listen to our favorite radio station, homeopathic remedies are attuned to a specific frequency.  The frequency obtained depends on the substance diluted, the scale of dilution, and the number of dilutions.  Different dilutions are used for different things.


One other point about homeopathy that I want to stress is its' Healing and Vibrational nature and the dilution of the original substance.  With each successive dilution the substance becomes infinitesimal and unrecognizable in the water.  Only a Vibrational Energy is left and carried by the water and alcohol.  This Vibrational Energy stimulates our bodies to heal.


Our body responds to the specific frequency that a Homeopathic is attuned to. What is also interesting about Homeopathy is that as the potency increases (the # of dilutions increases as well), the substance we originally used to create that frequency has disappeared.  The substance becomes infinitesimal. That original substance is essentially gone. 

The most important thing about a homeopathic remedy is its frequency.  If most of us could see its frequency we would know them to all be different. Homeopathy works by stimulating the bodies natural defenses and provides an energy of activation of the body's own healing forces. Homeopathy is one type of Energetic Healing or Vibrational Healing. Homeopathy works on the basic principle of "like cures like."


What is wonderful about homeopathy is that it can be used to increase a persons vitality.  When a person's vitality is low, they appear listless, tired, fatigued, unresponsive, and have difficulty exerting their energies. In this case, it is important to pick a remedy which vibrationally resonates with the person. It is possible to pick a remedy which heals an illness, increases vitality, and helps emotionally and mentally as well.

Homeopathy can be used for the most simplest things like sleep difficulty, a twisted ankle, a long term tendon or ligament injury, or even to tighten the skin.  Their uses are varied, and we are all still learning about homeopathy, how its used to help the body heal, and stay in balance. 

Homeopathy definitely has its place in ones' Natural Healing Cabinet, but sometimes its necessary to use allopathic medicine to help the body heal an acute injury. What is EAV/Electro dermal screening and how does it work?
Electro acupuncture according to Voll-EAV or Electro dermal Screening, is a type of electro-vibrational testing developed by Dr. Reinhold Voll in Germany in the 1940’s and 50’s to measure meridian energy flow in the human body.  It is a type of testing that uses a small amount of voltage applied to the skin which tests the body’s skin resistance. 

What is the Body Scan?
The BodyScan 2010 is an FDA registered biofeedback/stress testing device that measures your physiological response to outside stimuli.  It uses biofeedback by attaching electrodes to your head, fingers, wrists and ankles and EAV as described above. 

Will I “feel” it or get a shock?

What is homeopathy?

When will I start feeling better?

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

How To Collect Hair Sample: 
   Notes: Please make sure everything is labeled with your name. 

Ø      Cut a tablespoon of hair from the back of the head at the hair line on the neck.  The sample should be fresh hair growth.
Ø      For short hair or babies, collect enough hair to fill a tablespoon. 
Ø      Insert hair into a Zip-lock bag.  Make sure the bag is firmly sealed to prevent any hair from spilling out. 
Ø      You may include a sample of any medication, vitamins, etc. that you are taking. Indicate what it is and what it is for. 
Ø      Include a picture of yourself for the doctor. 

      Mailing Instructions:
